Slack AI pricing, Slack Business Plus pricing and what Slack AI costs per user

Slack AI has no separate price anymore. You get it by being on the right plan: Business+ costs $15 per active user per month billed annually or $18 monthly and includes the full AI set, while Pro at $7.25 includes only summaries and huddle notes. Enterprise search across other apps needs Enterprise+ at $45.

Slack's help center says it plainly: "To support the inclusion of advanced AI features, we changed the price of our Business+ plan and also introduced a new Enterprise+ plan." It also answers the question most admins ask next. If you switch every AI feature off, "the price you pay for your Slack plan won't change." You are paying for the plan, and AI is a part of it you can use or ignore.

Two things sit outside the plan price. Agentforce is sold separately, which Slack's June 2025 announcement notes in a footnote, and Business+ customers on invoice can buy Salesforce Flex Credits to raise their Slackbot message limits. Slack publishes no Flex Credit price on its own site.

Not anymore. The Slack AI add-on that Salesforce priced at $10 per user per month in April 2024 can no longer be bought on Slack's website. Customers who had it kept paying for it only until their first renewal after August 17, 2025. Today the AI features come with Pro, Business+ or Enterprise+.

This is where most search results go wrong. Several pages written in 2025 and 2026 still describe the $10 add-on as current, and one of them swaps the annual and monthly Business+ prices. The only thing that costs extra today is usage beyond the plan: Slack says it "may move to alternative commercial models for advanced Slackbot capabilities released after June 2026," with 30 days written notice before usage-based pricing starts.

Slack Business+ is $15 per active user per month billed annually, or $18 per active user per month billed monthly. It was $12.50 and $15 until Slack raised it on June 17, 2025, when AI features were folded into the plan.

Business+ is the plan Slack labels "Advanced AI". On top of what Pro has, it adds Slackbot, AI answers in search, daily recaps, file summaries, AI translations, AI workflow generation, AI steps in Workflow Builder and AI writing help in canvas. It does not include enterprise search across other apps. For a 100 person company, Business+ costs $18,000 a year on annual billing and $21,600 on monthly billing.

Slack's Fair Billing Policy credits you for members inactive for more than 28 days, but only on plans bought through Slack's website by card or self-serve invoice. A negotiated contract follows its own terms.

For a team that lives in Slack all day, usually yes. The upgrade costs $7.75 per user per month on annual billing, and it buys Slackbot, recaps, file summaries and AI answers inside Slack search. It does not buy search across Google Drive, Confluence or Notion, and Slackbot is capped at 15 messages per person per week.

At 100 users the move from Pro to Business+ adds $9,300 a year. The deciding question is where your team's answers live. If most of what people ask about was said in Slack channels, Business+ AI answers from that history well, and it is the cheapest way to get an assistant into the tool everyone already has open. If the answer usually sits in a Drive folder, a Confluence page or a Notion doc, Business+ search will not reach it.

The weekly cap matters for heavy users. Slack's help center states: "Each member of a Business+ workspace can send 15 messages to Slackbot per week, starting Monday and ending Sunday." Salesforce's co-founder said in April 2026 that the company needs to "revisit this limit", but the help article still says 15.

Slack's pricing card now lists Enterprise+ at $45 per active user per month, billed annually, with no monthly option. Before late September 2026 it said "Contact sales for pricing". It is the only Slack plan that includes enterprise search across other apps, and it has no weekly Slackbot limit.

The $45 figure is new. Archived copies of slack.com/pricing show "contact sales" on September 26, 2026 and $45 on September 28, 2026. The plan comparison table lower on the same page still says contact sales, so get the figure in writing before you budget against it. Enterprise+ is three times the Business+ annual price, which makes enterprise search the most expensive single line in Slack's price list: at 100 users, moving from Business+ to Enterprise+ adds $36,000 a year.

Slack has changed its AI pricing twice in two years: Business+ went from $12.50 to $15 on June 17, 2025 when the $10 add-on was withdrawn, and Enterprise+ went from contact sales to a listed $45 in late September 2026. Pro has stayed at $7.25 throughout.

On annual billing, 100 users cost $8,700 a year on Pro, $18,000 on Business+ and $54,000 on Enterprise+. At 250 users the gap between Business+ and Enterprise+ is $90,000 a year, which is what the enterprise search line really costs.

The cost of Enterprise+ is set by headcount, not by how many people need cross-app search, because Slack bills the plan for every active member. That is the number to hold a separate search tool against. If 40 of your 100 people need answers from Drive, Confluence and Notion, 40 InSearch Business seats cost $15,360 a year, next to the $36,000 it costs to move the whole workspace up a tier.

Slack's AI is strongest on what was said in Slack. Its enterprise search reaches 13 connected apps on Enterprise+ only, needs an admin to switch it on and each person to connect their own accounts, and does not list Notion among its sources.

Slack's supported sources are Asana, Box, Confluence Cloud, Dropbox, GitHub, Google Drive, Gmail, Jira Cloud, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint, Salesforce and Seismic, with custom connectors through Slack's APIs. Confluence and Jira are limited to five subdomains each and GitHub to five organizations. Setup takes two steps: "An Org Owner or Org Admin will need to enable enterprise search and connect at least one data source," and then members "connect their individual accounts." Coverage therefore grows person by person. On permissions Slack does this correctly: results "will only include source content that the person searching has permission to access."

If you want recaps, huddle notes and an assistant in every channel for the whole company, Business+ at $15 is good value and we would not talk you out of it.
