Microsoft 365 Copilot Business Pricing and Business Premium with Copilot Cost

If you run a company under 300 people on Microsoft 365, Copilot Business is the version of Copilot Microsoft built for you, and the price on its card is the least useful number on the page. The add-on reads $18, but that is a promotion with an end date, it renews at $21, and it is the most expensive way to get Copilot onto a Business Standard or Business Premium seat.

Short answer

Microsoft 365 Copilot Business lists at $21.00 per user per month and is discounted to $18.00 per user per month, paid yearly, for subscriptions bought between July 1 and December 31, 2026. The discount covers the first year only, the plan is capped at 300 users, and a Microsoft 365 business plan has to sit underneath it. Paid month to month, it is $25.20, or $18.90 a month on an annual commitment billed monthly. The cheaper route for most small companies is a bundle: Microsoft 365 Business Standard with Copilot is $23.50 and Business Premium with Copilot is $32.00 per user per month paid yearly, which is $8.50 and $8.00 less than buying the same base plan plus the discounted add-on. Every figure here was read from microsoft.com on October 9, 2026.

All Microsoft figures read from microsoft.com (US) on October 9, 2026, per user per month. Paid yearly unless noted. USD.

Business Basic is $7.00 per user per month paid yearly and has no Copilot bundle on the US page, so on Basic the add-on is the only route: $25.00 a seat in year one and $28.00 at list.

How much does Microsoft 365 Copilot Business cost?

Microsoft 365 Copilot Business costs $18.00 per user per month paid yearly if you buy it by December 31, 2026, and $21.00 per user per month at list. Paid monthly it is $25.20. It is an add-on, so you pay for a Microsoft 365 business plan as well, and it covers up to 300 users.

The card on microsoft.com reads "Originally starting from $21.00 now starting from $18.00 user/month, paid yearly." The footnote behind the asterisk is where the terms live. Microsoft says the discount "is available between July 1, 2026, and December 31, 2026", that the add-on "is available only to existing Microsoft 365 customers with an eligible Business plan", that "an annual commitment is required, and promotional pricing applies to the first year only", and that the promotion is not available on trial subscriptions.

Read together, that means an $18 seat bought this quarter becomes a $21 seat at the first renewal. That is a 17 percent increase already written into the contract. Put the $21 figure in your year two budget now, not when the renewal notice arrives.

Two smaller terms are worth knowing before you click buy. There is a one month free trial, and Microsoft requires a credit card to start it; the trial converts to paid automatically. After a paid subscription starts, Microsoft gives a seven day window to cancel for a prorated refund.

Is Business Premium with Copilot cheaper than buying the add-on?

Yes, by a wide margin. Business Premium is $22.00 per user per month paid yearly on its own, so Premium plus the discounted Copilot Business add-on is $40.00. Business Premium with Copilot is $32.00. That is $8.00 less per seat in year one and $11.00 less once the add-on returns to $21.

Business Standard follows the same pattern. Standard alone is $14.00, so Standard plus the add-on is $32.00 in year one and $35.00 at list, while Business Standard with Copilot is $23.50. Subtract the base plan from the bundle and the Copilot inside it works out to $9.50 a seat on Standard and $10.00 on Premium, roughly half the add-on price.

Seat built fromBase planPlus add-on at $18Plus add-on at $21Bundle price
Business Standard$14.00$32.00$35.00$23.50
Business Premium$22.00$40.00$43.00$32.00
Business Basic$7.00$25.00$28.00No bundle listed

The bundle product pages carry no promotional footnote, unlike the add-on, so as read on October 9, 2026 there is no stated first year limit on the bundle price. Microsoft can still reprice at renewal, as it did across its commercial suites on July 1, 2026, so check again before you sign a multi-year order. One more detail: on the US business plans page, Basic is now the only plan shown without Copilot. Standard and Premium appear as Copilot bundles, and the plain versions sit on their own product pages.

What does Copilot Business cost for 10, 50, 100 and 300 users?

For 50 users, the Copilot Business add-on costs $10,800 a year at the $18 promotion and $12,600 a year at $21. On top of Business Standard that becomes $19,200 in year one, while 50 Business Standard with Copilot seats cost $14,100 a year for both.

UsersAdd-on only, year one ($18)Add-on only, year two ($21)Standard plus add-on, year oneStandard with Copilot bundlePremium with Copilot bundle
10$2,160$2,520$3,840$2,820$3,840
50$10,800$12,600$19,200$14,100$19,200
100$21,600$25,200$38,400$28,200$38,400
300$64,800$75,600$115,200$84,600$115,200

All figures are paid yearly, per the October 9, 2026 prices. The "add-on only" columns are what you pay for Copilot if the base plan is already in your budget. Notice that Premium with Copilot costs exactly what Standard plus the discounted add-on costs, so a company buying the add-on on Standard could have had Premium security for the same money.

Copilot Business vs enterprise Copilot

The difference is size, base plan and price. Copilot Business is $21 at list ($18 promotional) for up to 300 users on Microsoft 365 business plans. Microsoft 365 Copilot for enterprise is $30 per user per month paid yearly, with no 300 user cap, on top of an enterprise plan such as E3 at $39 or E5 at $60.

The Copilot Business card lists Copilot in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams, chat grounded in your work data, reasoning for research and analysis, the Researcher, Analyst and Facilitator agents, adoption analytics and model choice. If you are under 300 people, there is little reason to pay the enterprise rate.

The line matters when you grow. Microsoft 365 business plans stop at 300 users, so the 301st employee moves the company toward enterprise licensing, and the honest Copilot seat on E3 is $69 against $23.50 to $32.00 for a business bundle. If your headcount plan crosses 300 in the next two years, model both sides now. Our 300 user Copilot cost breakdown does that arithmetic in full.

On eligibility, Licensing School's reading of Microsoft's June 2026 Product Terms lists the base licenses that qualify for the add-on: Microsoft 365 Business Basic, Standard or Premium, Microsoft 365 Apps for business, and Teams Essentials.

Can Copilot Business search Slack, Google Drive and other apps?

Mostly no, not out of the box. Copilot Business grounds its answers in Microsoft Graph, which is your Outlook mail, Teams chats, SharePoint and OneDrive files and meetings. Content in Slack, Google Drive, Notion, Confluence or Jira only reaches Copilot through connectors an administrator sets up.

That is fine for a company that genuinely lives in Microsoft 365. It is a real gap for the many small companies that run email on Outlook but keep projects in Notion, engineering in Jira and Confluence, and half their conversations in Slack. In that setup, Copilot answers confidently from the part of the company it can see, and the decision record in Slack never enters the answer.

Copilot works within your existing Microsoft 365 permissions. That cuts both ways: it will not show people files they cannot open, and it will surface any file that was overshared in SharePoint. A permissions review before rollout is worth an afternoon. If permission-aware answers across several systems are the requirement, see how permission-aware AI search handles it.

Copilot Business or a cross-app company search tool

Buy Copilot Business when your work happens in Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams and you want AI inside those apps. Buy a company search tool when the problem is finding answers spread across many apps, Microsoft and otherwise. Some teams buy both, and that is a reasonable outcome.

Copilot is a writing and working assistant first. It drafts the email, summarizes the meeting, builds the slide and analyzes the spreadsheet, and nothing outside Microsoft does those things as well inside Office. Microsoft wins that comparison outright.

InSearch is built for the other job. It connects SharePoint, Google Drive, Gmail, Slack, Notion, Confluence, Jira and Salesforce read-only, answers questions in plain English with citations to the source, and checks each answer against what the person asking is allowed to open. It costs $20, $32 or $49 per user per month billed annually, starts at three seats, and you can buy it by card today. A 50 person team on the Team plan pays $12,000 a year, less than the Copilot Business add-on at list. Try a question in the box at the top of this page and see what comes back from your own apps.

Questions about Copilot Business pricing

Both. $21.00 per user per month paid yearly is the list price. $18.00 is a promotion for subscriptions bought between July 1 and December 31, 2026, and Microsoft states it applies to the first year only, so the seat renews at $21.
Yes, two ways. On an annual commitment billed monthly, Microsoft's Copilot Chat page shows $18.90 a month, 5 percent above the $18 yearly price. Month to month with no annual term, the Copilot Business page shows $25.20, which is 20 percent above the $21 list price. The bundles are $28.20 and $38.40 a month on monthly subscriptions.
Microsoft offers a one month free trial. A credit card is required, the trial converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel, and the $18 promotion does not apply to trial subscriptions.
Up to 300 users, the same cap as Microsoft 365 business plans. Above 300 users the enterprise route applies, where Copilot is a $30 add-on on plans such as E3 at $39 or E5 at $60.
Yes. Microsoft sells the add-on only to existing customers with an eligible business plan. If you are starting fresh, the Business Standard or Business Premium with Copilot bundles include the base plan and cost less per seat than the two bought separately.
Microsoft says Copilot Chat is available at no additional cost for users with an eligible Microsoft 365 subscription. It works with web information and uploaded files. Grounding in your mail, chats and files through Microsoft Graph comes with a paid Copilot license.
