Perplexity Enterprise and Perplexity Enterprise Pro pricing: Enterprise Max, plans and cost per seat

Enterprise Pro is $40 per seat per month, or $400 per seat per year on an annual plan, which Perplexity describes as a 20 percent discount on monthly billing. Enterprise Max is $325 per seat per month or $3,250 per seat per year. Both are per active member, and there is a third, custom-priced tier for organizations that need the full governance set.

The pricing card shows the annual figures as $34 and $271 a month, which is simply the annual price divided by twelve and rounded up. The billing FAQ in Perplexity's help center is the cleaner source, because it states the monthly and annual prices side by side and adds the terms the card leaves out.

Those terms are worth reading before a purchase order goes in. In the first month you are charged for the number of seats you selected at onboarding, and because there is a 30 day seat commitment, removals only show up in billing after that first month. After that, added seats are prorated to the day, removed seats create a prorated credit, and the adjustments are billed weekly on monthly plans and monthly on annual plans. Perplexity also advises removing users before adding new ones so credits apply correctly.

Max buys capacity and the most advanced models, not a different product. Enterprise Pro includes 500 monthly Computer credits per seat and 8,500 bonus credits. Enterprise Max includes 15,000 monthly Computer credits per seat, 40,000 bonus credits, Model Council, the most advanced reasoning models and much higher file limits.

The file limits are where most teams actually feel the difference. Perplexity's enterprise file limits article gives the exact numbers, and almost none of the pricing summaries in circulation repeat them.

A researcher who uploads a handful of documents a day never notices these. An analyst team running diligence over data rooms hits the 500 file project ceiling and the 100 a week attachment quota quickly, and the only published step up is the $325 seat. Perplexity lets you combine Pro and Max seats in one organization, so the practical answer is usually to buy Max for the few heavy users and Pro for everyone else.

Perplexity publishes no seat minimum for Enterprise Pro or Enterprise Max. Pricing is per seat, and you are billed only for active members. The real floor is the 30 day seat commitment in your first month, when you pay for every seat you selected at onboarding even if you remove some.

That makes Perplexity one of the easier enterprise AI tools to start small with. Compare Claude Enterprise, where Anthropic's own migration guide states that Enterprise organizations have a 20 seat minimum, and ChatGPT Business, which needs 2 paid seats per workspace and stops at 200.

The catch is on the other side of the purchase. Perplexity states it does not offer trials for Enterprise Pro or Enterprise Max, so the first seat you evaluate on is a paid one. Buy a small number of seats for the first month, run the real workflows your team cares about, and scale after the commitment period rather than buying the whole department up front.

Yes, but Perplexity's billing FAQ publishes no discount figure. It states that discounts may be available for teams of 250 or more members, schools, universities, not-for-profit organizations and government agencies, and asks eligible organizations to get in touch for a discount code after verification.

Several pricing guides in circulation quote a specific education and nonprofit rate for Enterprise Pro. We could not find that figure in Perplexity's own billing documentation, so treat it as a secondary claim to confirm with sales, not a price to put in a budget. Nonprofits need a certificate, and educational institutions need an IT representative or department head to apply, because Perplexity states students cannot request the discount directly.

Invoice billing is available on annual subscriptions only, and teams of 250 or more get what Perplexity calls white glove invoicing support. If procurement needs to pay by wire, that is supported at checkout.

On the annual Enterprise Pro price of $400 per seat, Perplexity Enterprise costs $4,000 a year for 10 people, $20,000 for 50 and $40,000 for 100. Monthly billing at $40 makes those $4,800, $24,000 and $48,000. Every Max seat you add costs $3,250 a year.

The last column is the one to model honestly. Putting just one person in ten on Max raises the 50 seat bill from $20,000 to $34,250, a 71 percent increase, because the Max seat is eight times the Pro seat. At 250 people you are also past the threshold where Perplexity says volume discounts may be available, so the right number there is whatever the quote says.

For scale, the same 50 people cost $12,000 a year on Claude Team or ChatGPT Business at the annual $20 rate. Perplexity is the more expensive seat, and what it buys for the difference is a research engine built around live web search and citations, with models from several vendors behind it.

Perplexity is retiring it. The organization file repository no longer accepts new uploads, and the help center states that files remaining in the repository after October 1, 2026 will be deleted. Admins are told to download what they need and move it to a Project or a supported File Connector before then.

This matters for pricing because it moves shared files onto limits that are counted per user or per project. A shared repository used to be one place. After the retirement, the files your team shares live in Projects, which hold 500 files each on Enterprise Pro and 5,000 on Max, or stay in cloud storage and come in through File Connectors, which count toward each person's totals.

If your organization uploaded a policy library or a sales enablement set into the repository, check it this month. A deletion date on company files is the kind of detail that is easy to miss in an admin notice and hard to undo afterward.

Perplexity's File Connectors for Enterprise cover five cloud storage services: Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, SharePoint, Dropbox and Box. The pricing grid also advertises connecting to more than 400 app connectors. File Connectors sync Google Docs, Sheets and Slides, Office files, PDF, CSV, RTF, ODT, Markdown, JSON and text.

The detail that matters is how coverage works. An admin enables a connected service for the organization, and then, in Perplexity's words, every user can connect their own accounts and control which folders and files Perplexity is allowed to access. Files a person syncs to their personal repository can be searched only by that person. You can sync individual files or folders, but adding entire drives is not currently supported, and images, audio and video are not supported through connectors.

Permissions are handled sensibly and that should be said plainly. Other people in a shared session can see responses that reference a file, but they still need permission in the source app to open the full contents. What the model does not give you is a central index of everything the company holds. Coverage depends on which folders each employee chose to sync.

Perplexity is a research engine first. Its strength is cited answers from the live web, premium data sources such as PitchBook and Statista, and files people bring to it. It is not built to be a company-wide index of Slack threads, Confluence spaces, Jira tickets and CRM records, and its file limits and per-user sync model show that.

Read the question your team actually asks. "What is the market size for this segment" or "summarize these ten filings" is squarely Perplexity's job, and it does it well, with a choice of models from OpenAI, Anthropic and Google behind it. "What did we agree with this customer across the contract, the Slack thread and the support ticket" is a different job, because the answer sits in systems nobody uploaded and in folders the person asking may never have synced.
