Unleash pricing for Unleash.so enterprise search and Unleash AI after the Zendesk acquisition

If you searched for Unleash pricing, you probably found that the Unleash website is gone. Typing unleash.so today lands you on the Zendesk homepage, with no pricing page, no quote form and no mention of Unleash in the menu. That is the result of an acquisition, not an outage, and it changes what you are buying.

Short answer

Unleash, the enterprise search tool at unleash.so, no longer has a price list. Zendesk bought Unleash on December 18, 2025, and the unleash.so website now redirects to zendesk.com. When Unleash last published numbers, in March 2023, plans ran from $49 a month for 3 users to $199 a month for 25 users on annual billing, and by September 2025 the page had switched to a custom quote form. Today the same search technology is sold inside Zendesk Employee Service Suite, priced per support agent from $59 a month on the plans that include it, plus $0.99 for each AI resolution past a small monthly allowance.

Compared

Unleash then and now, compared with other enterprise search options

Unleash figures from Internet Archive captures of unleash.so/pricing. Zendesk figures read October 7, 2026 from zendesk.com and support.zendesk.com. Other vendors from our own pricing pages, each dated there. USD.

Option Price How it is billed Best fit
Unleash, March 2023 list $49, $99 and $199 a month on annual billing ($69, $139 and $289 monthly) Flat plans covering 3, 10 and 25 users, Enterprise by quote Historical reference only. These plans are no longer sold
Unleash, September 2025 to March 2026 Custom quote Quote form asking for user count and deployment: SaaS, self-hosted or private tenant Historical reference only. The site now redirects to Zendesk
Zendesk Employee Service Suite $59 Growth, $99 Professional per agent a month billed annually; Enterprise by quote Per support agent, not per employee. 10 AI resolutions per AI agent a month included on Growth and Professional, then $0.99 each IT and HR teams that want a service desk, tickets and approvals with AI answers in Slack and Teams
Glean No public price. Vendr's August 2026 figure was a $98,890 median annual contract Annual contract, minimums often 100 to 250 users Large companies that want the broadest connector catalog and can run a procurement cycle
InSearch $20 Team, $32 Business, $49 Scale per user a month billed annually Per user, from three seats, self-serve by card Teams that want everyone to search company apps for their own work with cited, permission-checked answers

Zendesk lists monthly billing at $39, $79 and $125 per agent for Team, Growth and Professional. Employee service AI agents are not included on Suite Team. The resolution allowance is per AI agent per month and Zendesk says the agent pauses when it runs out unless more resolutions are bought.

How much does Unleash cost?

Unleash has no current price because it is no longer sold as a standalone product on its own website. Zendesk acquired Unleash on December 18, 2025, and on October 7, 2026 www.unleash.so returned a permanent redirect to zendesk.com. The search technology is now part of Zendesk Employee Service, where it is priced through Zendesk plans rather than an Unleash plan.

The last time Unleash showed figures was the March 2023 version of its pricing page. Billed annually, Basic was $49 a month for 3 users, Standard $99 a month for 10 users and Pro $199 a month for 25 users, with an Enterprise tier behind a contact form. Monthly billing was $69, $139 and $289. Per person that worked out to about $16.33, $9.90 and $7.96 a month on the annual plans, which made Unleash one of the cheaper ways to put search across a small team's apps.

Somewhere between March 2023 and September 2025 the numbers came down. Every capture from September 2025 to March 2026 shows the same thing: "Get a custom quote," followed by the sentence "Unleash pricing is tailored to your specific use case," and a form asking for your work email, user count and deployment method. If someone quotes you a recent Unleash price, ask where it came from, because Unleash itself stopped printing one.

What happened to Unleash after Zendesk bought it?

Zendesk folded Unleash into its Employee Service product. The technology now powers Zendesk's employee service AI agents, which answer employee questions in the help center, Slack and Microsoft Teams from connected knowledge sources, with access permissions checked at the source.

The rollout ran in two steps. Zendesk announced an early access program on July 10, 2026, starting August 3, that turned the agents on automatically for eligible Employee Service Suite accounts and connected Google Drive, SharePoint, Confluence, Notion, Slack, Teams, Box, Seismic and a web crawler. During early access the agents were free to use. On October 2, 2026, Zendesk announced general availability, rolling out between November 3 and December 1, 2026, with "more than 20 knowledge connectors" and resource-level permissions for connected content.

What we could not find is a public statement about standalone Unleash contracts. Zendesk's announcements describe the new agents, not what happens to an existing Unleash subscription at renewal. If you are a current customer, ask your account contact three things in writing: whether your Unleash contract renews as Unleash or converts to a Zendesk plan, which of your current connectors carry over, and whether your users keep the browser extension and desktop app or move to Slack, Teams and the help center.

How much does Zendesk Employee Service cost with AI agents?

Zendesk Employee Service Suite costs $29, $59 and $99 per agent per month billed annually for Team, Growth and Professional, or $39, $79 and $125 billed monthly, and Enterprise is quoted. Employee service AI agents, the product built on Unleash, come with Growth and above, not with Team.

The important word is agent. Zendesk charges for the people who work tickets, such as your IT and HR staff, not for every employee who asks a question. A company of 800 people with six IT and HR agents on Growth pays for six seats, $354 a month on annual billing, which is far less than most per-employee search tools would cost for the same headcount. That is a real advantage and worth stating plainly.

The AI side is metered differently. From November 3, 2026, each employee service AI agent includes 10 automated resolutions a month on Growth and Professional and 15 on Enterprise and Enterprise Plus. Zendesk's announcement says that once an agent "provides the allowed number of automated resolutions, it pauses until the limit resets the following month or additional automated resolutions are purchased at $0.99 per resolution." Zendesk also sells a Copilot add-on for human agents at $50 per agent per month billed annually.

What does the AI resolution meter cost at real volumes?

At 10 included resolutions a month, almost every resolution a busy company produces will be billed at $0.99. A company whose employees get 1,500 questions a month answered automatically would pay about $1,475 a month for resolutions on top of agent seats. The volumes below are our assumptions for illustration, not Zendesk figures.

Automated resolutions a monthIncluded (one AI agent, Growth)Billed at $0.99Monthly resolution cost
1001090$89.10
50010490$485.10
1,500101,490$1,475.10
5,000104,990$4,940.10

Two details matter more than the arithmetic. First, the pause: if nobody buys extra resolutions, the agent stops answering for the rest of the month, which is the kind of failure employees notice on day 12. Second, what counts. Zendesk's early access note said resolutions using connected external sources "might count" toward automated resolution credits, while the general availability announcement simply sets an allowance per agent. Before you budget, get Zendesk to confirm in writing which answers are counted as automated resolutions on your plan.

Yes. If you used Unleash so that everyone at the company could search Slack, Google Drive, Confluence, Notion and the rest from one box, the alternatives are finished enterprise search tools such as Glean, GoSearch, Onyx and InSearch, rather than a service desk.

The distinction is the job. Zendesk is building an employee help desk: someone asks how to expense a monitor, the AI agent answers from policy, and if it cannot, it opens a ticket for a human. That is excellent for IT and HR, and if that is what you need, Zendesk's per-agent pricing is hard to beat. Unleash was also used by sales, engineering and support people to find their own documents, threads and tickets while they work. That is a search tool every employee uses all day, and a resolution meter that pauses at a monthly limit is the wrong shape for it.

InSearch is built for that second job. It connects your company apps read-only, answers in plain English with citations to the source documents, and checks each answer against the permissions of the person asking. It costs $20, $32 or $49 per user per month billed annually, starts at three seats and is bought by card, with no quote form. For a 25 person team on the Team plan that is $500 a month. You can try a question in the box at the top of this page before you talk to anyone.

Unleash vs Glean, and what replaced that comparison

Unleash used to be the cheaper, self-serve answer to Glean: published plans from $49 a month against Glean's sales-only contracts. That comparison no longer exists, because neither vendor now publishes a price and Unleash is sold through Zendesk.

Glean's pricing page now redirects to its homepage, and the buying data that circulates is third party: Vendr showed a $98,890 median annual Glean contract in August 2026, with minimums that often start around 100 to 250 users. If your team is smaller than that, or you simply want to see a price before a sales call, the honest shortlist is the tools that still publish one. We keep those figures current on Glean pricing and in enterprise search software for teams over 100 users.

Good questions

Questions about Unleash pricing

Not as a standalone website. Zendesk acquired Unleash in December 2025 and unleash.so now redirects to zendesk.com. The technology is sold inside Zendesk Employee Service as employee service AI agents, generally available from a rollout that runs November 3 to December 1, 2026.
Zendesk. It announced the acquisition of Unleash, an AI enterprise search company based in Tel Aviv, on December 18, 2025, and did not disclose the price. Zendesk describes the deal as part of its push into AI-first employee service.
On the March 2023 price list, billed annually, about $16.33 per user a month on Basic ($49 for 3 users), $9.90 on Standard ($99 for 10) and $7.96 on Pro ($199 for 25). Monthly billing was $69, $139 and $289. Later versions of the page showed no figures.
No. Unleash at getunleash.io is an open source feature flag platform for developers, a different company with its own pricing. This page covers Unleash at unleash.so, the enterprise search and AI assistant product that Zendesk acquired.
Yes. Zendesk says the agents answer in the help center, Slack and Microsoft Teams, connect to more than 20 knowledge sources including Google Drive, SharePoint, Confluence, Notion and Box, and check access permissions on connected content before answering.
It depends on who uses it. For an IT and HR help desk, Zendesk charges per agent, so a few seats can cover a large company. For everyone searching their own work across apps, a per-user tool with a published price is simpler to budget. InSearch starts at $20 per user a month billed annually from three seats.
