ChatGPT Business Price per Seat with ChatGPT Team Pricing and Annual Cost

ChatGPT Business is the plan OpenAI built for companies that are too big for everyone to expense a personal Plus subscription and too small to sit through an Enterprise sales cycle. The price on the card is simple. What it costs your company depends on three choices the card does not make for you: annual or monthly billing, how many people get a Premium seat, and whether you will outgrow the 200 seat ceiling within the term.

Short answer

ChatGPT Business costs $20 per user per month for a Standard seat billed annually, or $25 billed monthly. A Premium seat costs $100 per user per month billed annually, or $125 monthly, and gives 5x the Standard usage with no 5 hour limit. You can mix both seat types in one workspace. OpenAI sells Business to teams of 2 to 200 people and charges it to a credit card; above 200 paid seats the only route is Enterprise, which has no published price. ChatGPT Team is the old name of the same plan.

This page gives the published figures as OpenAI listed them on October 12, 2026, works out the yearly bill at 10, 50, 150 and 200 seats, and lists what a Business seat does and does not include. It also covers the question most buyers hit after the purchase: ChatGPT Business answers from the apps each person connects, so it is not the same thing as a company search tool that already knows who can see which file.

Why InSearch

One search across every app, with a cited answer

Not eight separate search boxes, not a wall of blue links. InSearch unifies your apps and returns one written answer with citations, scoped to exactly what you can see.

One search, every app

Drive, Slack, Notion, Confluence, Gmail, Jira and Salesforce searched in a single query, so you stop opening a different search box for each tool.

A cited answer

A written answer in plain language with inline citations back to the exact source docs, so you can trust it and verify it instead of reading a page of links.

Permission-aware

It inherits and enforces each source's access controls at query time, so every person only ever sees answers from content they can already open. It never trains on your data.

How much does ChatGPT Business cost per user?

ChatGPT Business costs $20 per user per month for a Standard seat on an annual plan and $25 per user per month on a monthly plan. Premium seats cost $100 per user per month annually and $125 monthly. Annual billing saves $60 a seat a year on Standard and $300 a seat a year on Premium, which is a 20 percent discount on both.

Standard is the seat most people get. OpenAI describes it as best for everyday work and lists usage as unlimited subject to abuse guardrails. The Premium card's note that it has no 5 hour limit tells you the Standard seat has one. Premium gives 5x the usage of Standard and removes the 5 hour limit, so it is meant for the few people who live in ChatGPT all day: analysts running deep research, engineers in Codex, the person who builds your workspace agents.

What does ChatGPT Business cost for 10, 50 and 200 users?

On annual billing with Standard seats, ChatGPT Business costs $2,400 a year for 10 users, $12,000 for 50, $36,000 for 150 and $48,000 for 200. On monthly billing the same seats cost $3,000, $15,000, $45,000 and $60,000 a year.

SeatsStandard, annualStandard, monthlyWith 10 percent Premium, annual
10$2,400$3,000$3,360 (9 Standard, 1 Premium)
50$12,000$15,000$16,800 (45 Standard, 5 Premium)
150$36,000$45,000$50,400 (135 Standard, 15 Premium)
200$48,000$60,000$67,200 (180 Standard, 20 Premium)

The Premium column is the line to watch. One Premium seat costs as much as five Standard seats, so giving a tenth of the company Premium raises the bill by 40 percent.

Is ChatGPT Team the same as ChatGPT Business?

Yes. ChatGPT Business is the current name of the plan OpenAI used to sell as ChatGPT Team. The sign up link on OpenAI's pricing page still points to chatgpt.com/team-sign-up and the help article it links still sits at a what-is-chatgpt-team address, which is why searches for ChatGPT Team pricing land on the Business price. If you are on an older Team subscription, the seat price you renew at is the Business price above.

What is the minimum and maximum number of seats?

The minimum is 2 users and the maximum is 200 paid seats per subscription. OpenAI's billing documentation states that since August 24, 2026 the limit is 200 paid Standard and Premium seats in total, that purchased but unassigned seats count toward it, and that its support team cannot raise it. Workspaces created before that date keep their previous seat limit. A company that expects to pass 200 people during the term should price Enterprise now rather than at renewal, because there is no larger Business tier to move into.

What is not included in ChatGPT Business?

Business leaves out the controls larger IT teams usually ask for first: SCIM provisioning, role-based access controls, the Compliance API, IP allowlisting, Enterprise Key Management and data residency. OpenAI's comparison table marks all of these as Enterprise only, along with the ISO 27001 family certifications, the connector registry, invoicing and dedicated onboarding. Business does include SAML SSO, MFA, domain verification, an admin console, bulk member management, SOC 2 Type 2 and a default of no training on your business data.

For a 30 person company that list rarely matters. For a company with a security review, the missing SCIM and role-based access are often what pushes the purchase up to Enterprise even below 200 seats.

Can ChatGPT Business search all of our company files?

Partly. ChatGPT Business connects to Google Workspace, Slack, GitHub, Microsoft 365 and other apps, and its company knowledge feature answers from the apps each member has connected. OpenAI's connector documentation describes each person authenticating each provider individually, so the coverage of any answer depends on what that person linked. That works well for one person's own work. It is a weaker fit when the question is where the company already wrote something down, across apps nobody in particular connected.

That second job is what InSearch is for. An admin connects the company's apps once, every answer cites its sources, and results are filtered by each person's existing access in the source app. Many teams run both: ChatGPT Business for drafting and analysis, InSearch for finding answers across the company.

Good questions

Questions about ChatGPT Business pricing

Both, depending on billing. A Standard seat is $20 per user per month on an annual plan and $25 per user per month on a monthly plan. Premium seats are $100 annually and $125 monthly.
On annual billing they cost the same, $20 a month per person. On monthly billing Business costs $5 more per person than Plus. What the extra buys is a shared workspace the company owns, an admin console, SAML SSO, company knowledge and no training on business data by default.
Yes. OpenAI lists mix and match seat types as a Business feature, so you can give Premium only to the people who need the higher usage. Both seat types count toward the 200 seat limit.
By credit card. OpenAI says Go, Plus, Pro and Business can be bought with any major credit card, while Enterprise customers contact sales for invoicing and other payment options.
OpenAI states that through OpenAI for Nonprofits, nonprofits can get up to a 75 percent discount on ChatGPT Business or ChatGPT Enterprise. The discount is arranged through OpenAI sales, not applied at checkout.
On a workspace created since August 24, 2026 you cannot buy a 201st Business seat; older workspaces keep their previous limit. OpenAI states the 200 paid seat limit cannot be raised by support, so the next step is ChatGPT Enterprise, which is sold by quote and billed annually.
