The short answer
Sana AI no longer publishes a price for companies. Until late September 2026, Sana's pricing page listed a Free plan at $0 and a Team plan at $30 per user per month for up to 50 people. On October 7, 2026 the page showed only Enterprise, at "Custom pricing". Inside the sana.ai app, Team still costs €30 per member per month billed annually or €35 monthly. Since Workday bought Sana for about $1.1 billion, the new Sana products are sold through Workday Flex Credits or alongside Workday HCM and Financials, and Workday has not published a dollar price for them.
Figures from sanalabs.com/products/sana/pricing, the sana.ai app, support.sana.ai and newsroom.workday.com, read October 7, 2026, plus Internet Archive captures of Sana's pricing pages from March 2024 to September 2026.
If you are pricing Sana AI, you are probably in one of two places. Either your company runs Workday and someone has asked whether Sana comes with it, or you saw Sana Agents on a shortlist of AI assistants that search company documents and want to know what a team of 30 or 300 would pay. Both questions got harder this autumn, because the public rate card that answered them has been taken down.
We sell InSearch, a search tool that answers questions across a company's apps, so Sana is a product we compete with. Below is every Sana figure we could verify, where it came from and when, plus the cases where Sana is the better buy.
How much does Sana AI cost?
For a company that is not already on Workday, the only public answer today is "Custom pricing" for Sana Enterprise. The self-serve Team plan that cost $30 per user per month on Sana's website from November 2024 to September 2026 is no longer on that page, although the sana.ai app still sells it in euros.
Here is what each place showed on October 7, 2026.
| Plan | Sana pricing page | Inside the sana.ai app | Limits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | Removed (was $0 until September 2026) | €0 | 10 meetings and 20 messages per user a month, up to 5 members |
| Team | Removed (was $30 per user a month until September 2026) | €30 per member a month billed annually, €35 monthly | Up to 50 members, unlimited documents, queries and recordings |
| Enterprise | Custom pricing, "Book an intro" | Custom pricing, contact sales | Unlimited members, SAML SSO, SCIM, analytics, SLA |
| InSearch, for comparison | $20, $32 or $49 per user a month billed annually | Same prices, bought by card | From three seats, cited answers checked against each person's permissions |
Two details are worth knowing before you budget off the in-app numbers. Team is billed on every user in the workspace: Sana's help center says "Upgrading affects the entire workspace, not individual users" and "There is no option to designate free users within the same workspace." And the app quotes euros only. We could not find a dollar price at the Team checkout, so a US company should ask what it will actually be invoiced in.
What changed when Workday bought Sana?
Workday announced on September 16, 2025 that it would buy Sana for "approximately $1.1 billion" and completed the deal on November 4, 2025. On March 17, 2026 it relaunched Sana as three Workday products: Sana for Workday, the Sana Self-Service Agent and Sana Enterprise.
The pricing model moved with it. Workday's launch release says Sana for Workday and the Self-Service Agent "are now available to all Workday customers through Workday Flex Credits, no extra license, no separate paywall," and that customers receive an allocation of Flex Credits as part of their Workday subscription. Sana Enterprise, the version that searches across outside apps, "is now available with Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) or Workday Financial Management and through Workday Flex Credits."
Workday does not publish what a Flex Credit costs, how many come with a subscription, or how many a Sana question consumes. So for a Workday customer the honest answer to "what does Sana cost" is "some of it is already paid for, and the rest depends on your Flex Credit contract." Ask your Workday account team for the credit rate and the consumption per Sana action in writing before anyone switches it on for the whole company.
For a company that does not run Workday, the position is less clear. Workday's release ties Sana Enterprise to its HCM and Financials products, Sana's own site still offers Enterprise through a "Book an intro" button, and the self-serve rate card is gone. Sana's FAQ for its learning product says plainly that you do not need to be a Workday customer to buy it. We found no equivalent statement for Sana Agents or Sana Enterprise.
How has Sana AI pricing changed since 2024?
The Team price never moved. From the first public figure in November 2024 to the last capture in September 2026, Sana listed Team at $30 per user per month. What changed was the free tier, which was cut repeatedly, and then the removal of both public plans.
| Capture date | Free | Team |
|---|---|---|
| March 2024 | $0, 10 queries and 2 meeting recordings a day, 5 users, sign-up by invitation | Not offered |
| September 2024 | €0, 33 questions and 6 meetings a day | In the app only, €30 per member with a 5 seat minimum |
| November 2024 | $0, 100 daily credits, up to 5 members | $30 per user a month, up to 50 members, first public price |
| January 2025 to September 22, 2026 | $0, 10 meetings a month | $30 per user a month |
| October 7, 2026 | Removed from the pricing page | Removed from the pricing page |
If a review site or comparison blog quotes Sana at $30 with a free plan, it is describing the September 2026 page or earlier. That is still useful as a reference point for what the Team tier cost, but it is no longer a price you can click and buy on Sana's site.
Is Sana Learn priced the same way?
No. Sana Learn, the learning platform, is a separate product with its own published price: "From $13 per user monthly" for 300 to 3,000 users, and "Plans start at 300 users." At the minimum that is about $46,800 a year by our arithmetic.
This matters because third-party price data mixes the two. Vendr's Sana page shows a median buyer paying $54,900 a year, with a range of $15,976 to $99,657, but Vendr files Sana under learning platforms and describes a Learn contract, so treat that figure as Sana Learn data, not as the cost of Sana Agents. Sana Learn's price history is also on the record: €7,200 a year as a starting point in March 2024, $8 per user a month with a 300 user minimum in October 2024, and $13 per license with a 300 license minimum from 2025.
What does Sana connect to?
Sana's integrations page says "100+ apps automatically synced with Sana" and names 41, including Google Drive, SharePoint, Confluence, Notion, Slack, Salesforce, Jira, Zendesk, Box and Workday. Workday's relaunch release lists 18 connectors for Sana Enterprise, from Box and Confluence to ServiceNow, Slack and Zoom.
How permissions work is the more important question for a buyer. Sana's FAQ says that "for private integrations, each user is self-authenticating and can see results only from the scope they have access to," while for shared integrations admins choose which documents everyone can see. That is a sound model, but it means coverage depends on each person connecting their own accounts, which is the same per-user opt-in pattern we see in Claude Team and ChatGPT connectors. Sana's security page lists SOC 2, ISO 27001, HITRUST and GDPR. It does not mention HIPAA anywhere, so a healthcare buyer should ask directly.
Is Sana AI worth it, and what is the alternative?
If your company already runs Workday HCM, Sana for Workday is hard to argue with: it answers HR and finance questions inside Workday under the Flex Credits you already hold, with no extra license. Look at it first. If the HR team's real bottleneck is screening applicants rather than answering employee questions, that is a different purchase, closer to an AI interview agent that runs first-round screening interviews, and Sana will not replace it.
The case is weaker in two situations. The first is a company that does not use Workday and wants a price before a sales call: the Sana option with a public number has just been taken off the website, and what remains is a quote. The second is a company where most answers live outside HR, in Slack threads, Confluence pages, Jira tickets and Salesforce, and where the main job is helping everyone find what they need for their own work. That job does not need a Workday contract.
That second job is what InSearch does. It connects your company apps read-only, answers in plain English with citations to the source document, and checks every answer against what the person asking can already open. It costs $20 per user per month billed annually on Team, $32 on Business with Confluence, Jira and Salesforce connectors plus SSO, and $49 on Scale with audit logging, from three seats, bought by card. At 25 people that is $500 a month on Team, against €750 a month for the same 25 on Sana Team billed annually. We would rather you see the number than book an intro to find it, and you can try the InSearch demo on your own questions first.
Sana is not the only enterprise search vendor that has changed hands and pulled its price list. Zendesk bought Unleash in December 2025 and unleash.so now redirects to Zendesk; we documented what that did to buyers on Unleash pricing after the Zendesk acquisition. If you are renewing with any acquired vendor, the acquired enterprise search vendor playbook lists what to get in writing. And if Glean is the other name on your shortlist, Glean pricing covers what its contracts cost.
Before you sign
- If you run Workday, ask for the Flex Credit rate and the credits consumed per Sana question or action, in writing.
- If you buy Sana Team in the app, confirm the invoicing currency, since the app quotes euros only.
- Remember Team bills every member of the workspace. There are no free seats inside a paid workspace.
- Ask whether Free and Team will keep renewing now that they are gone from the pricing page.
- Check HIPAA status directly if you handle health data. Sana's public pages list SOC 2, ISO 27001 and HITRUST only.
- Count how many of your answer sources each person must connect personally before search is useful.
