The short answer
Notion AI costs $20 per member a month on the Business plan billed annually ($24 monthly), and its Enterprise Search feature is included. Glean publishes no price at all: its pricing URL now redirects to the homepage, and Vendr puts the median Glean contract at $98,890 a year, with minimums often starting around 100 to 250 users. At 100 people that is about $24,000 a year for Notion Business against roughly four times that for a typical Glean deal. The trade is reach. Notion's own help center lists ten AI connectors, with no Confluence and no Salesforce, and it reads only about one year back from the day you connect. Glean is built to search everything else.
Notion figures from notion.com/pricing (including the billing catalog served with the page) and Notion's help center, Glean figures from glean.com and Vendr, all read October 5, 2026.
The buyers who search for Glean against Notion are usually in the same spot. The company already pays for Notion, someone has seen a Glean demo, and the question on the table is whether the new Enterprise Search inside Notion is good enough to skip a six-figure contract. That is a fair question, and the answer depends far less on which AI is smarter than on where your company's knowledge actually lives.
This piece puts the published numbers side by side, works the bill out at 100, 250 and 500 people, and lists exactly which apps Notion's AI can read today. We sell InSearch, a third option, so read us as an interested party. Where Notion is the cheaper and better answer, we say so.
How much does Glean cost compared with Notion AI?
Notion AI is part of the Business plan at $20 per member a month billed yearly or $24 monthly, and Notion's billing catalog lists Enterprise at $28 yearly or $35 monthly per member. Glean does not publish prices. Vendr's data on 174 Glean purchases shows a median of $98,890 a year, with a low of $29,880 and a high of $208,897.
| Line item | Notion AI | Glean |
|---|---|---|
| List price per seat | $20 a month yearly, $24 monthly (Business) | Not published, glean.com/pricing redirects to the homepage |
| Enterprise tier | Shown as custom on the page, catalog SKU $336 a year ($28 a month) or $35 monthly | Quote only |
| Typical annual contract | Seats times list price | $98,890 median (Vendr, 174 purchases) |
| Seat minimum | None published | Often starting around 100 to 250 users (Vendr) |
| Extra meter | Custom Agents at $10 per 1,000 monthly Notion credits | Negotiated in the contract |
| Search across other apps | Enterprise Search, Business and Enterprise only | The core product |
| Can you buy it today without a call | Yes, by card | No |
Two details are worth knowing before you quote either number to finance. First, Notion's rendered pricing page labels Enterprise as custom, but the billing catalog the same page ships to the browser carries a live Enterprise price with an internal name that refers to a first quarter 2026 increase. Treat $28 as the list figure a sales rep starts from, not a ceiling. Second, Vendr's Glean range is wide because a Glean contract is not seats times a rate. It bundles platform, seats and AI usage, so a 150 person company and a 1,500 person company can land closer together than the headcount suggests.
What does Notion AI cost for 100, 250 and 500 users?
On Business billed yearly, Notion AI costs $24,000 a year for 100 members, $60,000 for 250 and $120,000 for 500. On the Enterprise catalog price the same headcounts cost $33,600, $84,000 and $168,000. Glean's median contract of $98,890 sits between Notion's 250 and 500 seat bills.
| Company size | Notion Business, yearly | Notion Enterprise, catalog | Glean |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100 people | $24,000 | $33,600 | At or near the usual seat minimum |
| 250 people | $60,000 | $84,000 | Median deal $98,890 |
| 500 people | $120,000 | $168,000 | Upper range reaches $208,897 |
The comparison flatters Notion in one way and penalizes it in another. It flatters Notion because most companies already pay for the Notion seats, so the true new spend may be the step up from Plus at $10 a member to Business at $20. It penalizes Notion because every person who needs to search has to hold a Notion seat, including the sales rep who lives in Salesforce and the engineer who lives in Jira and never opens a Notion page. If half the company does not otherwise need Notion, the per seat math changes fast. Our Notion AI pricing breakdown walks through the credits meter and the Plus to Business jump in more detail.
Can Notion AI search Slack, Google Drive and Confluence?
Notion AI can search Slack and Google Drive, but not Confluence. Notion's help center lists ten AI connectors: Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Drive, SharePoint and OneDrive, Jira (beta), GitHub, Linear, Gmail, Microsoft Outlook and Google Calendar. Connectors need the Business or Enterprise plan, except the personal Gmail connector.
| Category | Notion AI connectors listed in the help center |
|---|---|
| Chat | Slack, Microsoft Teams |
| Knowledge | Google Drive, Microsoft SharePoint and OneDrive |
| Projects | Jira (beta), GitHub, Linear |
| Email and calendars | Gmail, Microsoft Outlook, Google Calendar |
| Not in the list | Confluence, Salesforce, Zendesk, HubSpot, ServiceNow |
Notion's two pages do not quite agree. The pricing page tooltip for Enterprise Search says Jira, Box, OneDrive, Salesforce and Asana "are currently in Beta", while the help center table has no Box, Salesforce or Asana entry at all. The plan card on the same pricing page also marks Enterprise Search itself as Beta. If Salesforce or Box coverage matters to you, ask Notion to show it working on your own data before you sign.
The fine print matters more than the list. According to Notion's help center:
- Setting up a connector requires the Notion workspace owner, who also needs admin rights in the app being connected.
- The first ingest "can take up to 36 hours", and new content may take up to 3 hours to appear.
- "Generally, the integration can access information dating back one year from the setup date." Older Slack threads and Drive files are out of reach.
- Notion says connectors are "best for finding and summarizing information" and that Notion AI "might have a more difficult time with aggregating lots of information from an app or multiple apps."
- Permissions are mapped from each connected app, and Notion states users "will not be able to generate content or receive responses based on resources they do not have access to."
For a company whose engineering runbooks sit in Confluence, or whose customer history sits in Salesforce, that gap decides the purchase on its own. We cover the Confluence side in Confluence search engine for teams.
Is Glean better than Notion for enterprise search?
Glean is better when knowledge is spread across many systems, because company-wide search is its whole product and it lists "275+ out-of-the-box connectors". Notion AI is better value when most of your documentation already lives in Notion and the other sources you need are on its short connector list.
Where Glean wins, plainly: breadth of connectors, years of relevance tuning on enterprise data, an admin console built for large rollouts, and search for people who never open Notion. Where Notion wins: price, a self-serve checkout, no published seat minimum, and answers that sit right next to the pages your team already edits. Notion Enterprise Search also lets each user pick OpenAI's GPT, Anthropic's Claude or Google's Gemini as the model for a given search.
What neither gives you is a cheap way to search Notion and Confluence together. Notion does not connect Confluence, and Glean does, but only inside a contract that usually starts at a hundred seats or more.
Which one should you buy?
Start from where the answers live, not from the demo.
- Your docs, wiki and meeting notes are mostly in Notion, plus Slack and Drive. Upgrade to Notion Business. It covers the job, it is the cheapest path, and you can turn on Enterprise Search this afternoon. Notion's AI Meeting Notes also come with that plan, so the transcript of a call lands next to the project page, while the invite itself still comes from your scheduling software for business teams.
- You have 1,000 or more people, a dozen core systems and a team to run the rollout. Get a Glean quote, and use Vendr's $98,890 median and the 100 to 250 user minimum as your negotiating anchor. Our Glean pricing page lists what drives the number up.
- You are between 20 and 500 people and your knowledge is split across Notion, Confluence, Drive, Jira and Salesforce. This is the gap both products leave. You need cross-app search without buying a Notion seat for every Salesforce user, and without a six-figure minimum.
Where InSearch fits
InSearch connects read-only to Google Drive, Notion, Confluence, Gmail, Jira and Salesforce, and answers a question in plain English with citations to the exact source documents. Each person only sees answers built from what they can already open in the original app. It is sold per seat starting at $20 a month on the Team plan billed yearly, with a self-serve checkout, so the 250 person company in the table above can price it in a minute instead of a quarter. If your team already lives in Notion, keep Notion and let InSearch handle everything Notion AI cannot reach. If you are comparing the wider field, our list of Glean alternatives covers the other options with their published prices.

See plans and get startedFrequently asked questions
Does Notion AI have enterprise search?
Yes. Enterprise Search is part of Notion AI on the Business and Enterprise plans. It answers questions from your Notion workspace, the web and the apps you connect through Notion AI Connectors, and it cites its sources. Free and Plus workspaces only get a limited trial of it.
How much is Glean per user?
Glean does not publish a per user price, and its pricing URL redirects to the homepage. The best public benchmark is Vendr's purchase data: a median contract of $98,890 a year across 174 purchases, with minimum commitments often starting around 100 to 250 users. Your per user rate depends on seat count, term and the AI usage bundled in.
Is Notion AI included in the Business plan?
Yes. Notion's pricing page no longer offers AI as a separate add-on. Notion Agent, AI Meeting Notes and Enterprise Search are included in Business at $20 per member a month billed yearly or $24 monthly. Autonomous Custom Agents are the exception: they bill on Notion credits at $10 per 1,000 a month.
Can Notion AI replace Glean?
It can for companies whose knowledge is mostly in Notion, Slack and Google Drive. It cannot for companies that rely on Confluence or Salesforce, which are not on Notion's connector list, or that need answers from content older than about a year before the connector was set up.
