What InSearch indexes

Every place your answers already live

InSearch connects read-only to the tools your company runs, indexes the content each person is allowed to open, and keeps it fresh as documents change.

Documents and files

Google Drive files, PDFs, spreadsheets and presentations. InSearch reads the text inside each document, not just its filename, so a question can match a paragraph buried on page nine.

Wikis and notes

Confluence spaces and Notion pages, including nested subpages and databases. Handbooks, runbooks and specs become answerable instead of something you have to remember the title of.

Conversations and records

Slack channels and threads, Gmail messages, Jira issues and Salesforce records. The decision someone made in a thread six months ago is retrievable alongside the doc that formalised it.

Under the hood

Why it finds things keyword search misses

InSearch matches on meaning, not just on the exact words you typed, then writes an answer grounded in what it retrieved.

Semantic retrieval

Every indexed passage is stored as a vector embedding that captures what it means. Ask about "time off" and InSearch still surfaces the handbook section titled "Annual leave", because the two sit close together in meaning even though they share no keywords.

Hybrid ranking

Semantic matches are blended with classic keyword scoring, so exact identifiers still win when you search for one. A ticket key, an invoice number or a customer name resolves precisely instead of being fuzzed into something merely similar.

Grounded generation

The retrieved passages are what the answer is written from. Each claim carries an inline citation back to the passage it came from, and when your company's content does not contain the answer, InSearch says so rather than inventing one.

Freshness

Connectors sync continuously, so edits, new pages and closed tickets flow into the index. Answers reflect the current version of a document rather than a snapshot taken the day you connected the app.

Permissions and your data

Access control is enforced at query time

Indexing everything does not mean showing everything. Each query is resolved against the permissions the person already has in the source system.

Inherited, not re-declared

InSearch stores the access control list alongside each indexed item and inherits it from the source. There is no separate permissions model for an admin to keep in sync, and no way for the two to drift apart.

Filtered before generation

Retrieval is scoped to the asker before any answer is written, so content they cannot open never reaches the model. A restricted document cannot leak through a summary, because it was never part of the input.

Revocation takes effect

When access is removed in the source app, the change syncs through and that content stops appearing in results. Offboarding a person in your identity provider is enough.

Never used for training

Your content is encrypted in transit and at rest, connected read-only, and used only to answer your own team's questions. It is never used to train any model and never shared across companies.
